CLE's brief released: “Responding to ‘A Blueprint for Reform’ through the Lens of Students with Disabilities”

A CLE brief titled “Responding to ‘A Blueprint for Reform’ through the Lens of Students with Disabilities,” which was prepared under a contract with the Council for Parent Attorneys and Advocates (COPAA) www.copaa.org responds to the Obama Administration’s plan for the reauthorization of the ESEA as represented in “A Blueprint for Reform” released by the U.S. Department of Education (“ED”) in March, 2010. ED’s Blueprint provides a starting point for what promises to be a contentious debate about the direction of school reform; CLE’s brief describes basic differences between current law and changes being proposed by the Administration and, when possible, tries to examine through the lens of students with disabilities whether the proposed changes will further their right to a high-quality education.
